Q & A

+ Where do you live and do you charge for travel?

I live in Wild Rose, WI and I don't charge for travel within the state. The only caveat is that I may require a hotel stay if the drive time interferes with me leaving or returning home at a reasonable time. I am human after all, so I need to get adequate sleep before your wedding as well as safely drive myself home afterward.

+ Is "All Day" coverage really all day?

I offer "All Day" coverage because I don't want my couples to have to compromise or stress about their schedule. My general policy is that I start with hair and makeup and end no later than 9:30pm. If you are choosing "All Day" coverage, I'm going to work with you to make sure I'm there for everything you want covered. Any limitations I place on the start and end times are going to be based on my ability to get there without leaving home at an unreasonable time, and drive home safely afterward. If you have an unusual schedule, we can discuss it before booking and surely work something out that will fit your needs.

+ Do I need two photographers?

The short answer is no, you don't need two photographers. However, there are many reasons that you may want two photographers. I can only be in one place at a time, so during the candid parts of the day a second photographer provides another angle and will capture images that wouldn't otherwise be possible. A second photographer will also act as my assistant while photographing your portraits, allowing me to work more quickly and giving me more creative options. While not always necessary, a second photographer is a valuable addition and highly recommended.

+ How many images can we expect? Will we get every image you shoot?

You can expect about 75 images per hour of coverage, but this will vary from wedding to wedding. I do not deliver every image captured as I eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may be unflattering or repetitive.

+ What kind of editing will be done to my images?

All images will be adjusted for color and density as well as cropped and straightened where necessary. Portraits will receive light retouching and blemish removal for the bride and groom.

+ Can we print our wedding images wherever we want?

Absolutely! You will receive a personal print release that will allow you to print at a lab of your choosing.

+ How long will it take for us to receive our images?

Usually about 4 weeks.

+ Will I receive images in both color and monochrome (black and white)?

Yes! All images will be delivered in both color and monochrome.

+ What will you wear to our wedding?

I usually wear slacks with a shirt & tie and a waistcoat. I can dress down for more casual weddings or wear a jacket upon request.

+ Do you have backup equipment and insurance?

Yes! I have backups for all of the equipment I will use to photograph your wedding and I carry a substantial liability insurance policy. If your venue requires a COI (certificate of insurance), just let me know and I'll be happy to forward one to the coordinator.

+ Why do you charge sales tax?

I don't, that's the State of Wisconsin! But I am required to collect it on their behalf. According to Wisconsin state law, photographic services are subject to sales tax, even if only the digital files are sold. Taxes are a bummer, but I am required to collect sales tax on all products and services I offer, regardless of payment method.
